Important: SnapQuota respects intellectual property rights and follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). We respond promptly to valid DMCA takedown notices and take appropriate action against repeat infringers.

1. Copyright Policy

SnapQuota respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We have implemented procedures to handle copyright infringement claims in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

User Responsibilities

By using SnapQuota, you agree that you will not upload, share, or distribute any content that:

  • Infringes on any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
  • Violates any laws or regulations
  • Contains material that you do not have the right to share
  • Includes copyrighted material without proper authorization
Warning: Users who repeatedly upload copyrighted material without permission may have their accounts terminated.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with the following information:

Required Information

  • Identification: A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed
  • Location: The specific location (URL or event code) where the allegedly infringing material is located
  • Contact Information: Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • Statement of Good Faith: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner
  • Accuracy Statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  • Signature: Your physical or electronic signature

3. Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon Receipt of a Valid DMCA Notice

When we receive a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of the notice within 24 hours
  • Review the notice for completeness and validity
  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  • Notify the user who uploaded the material
  • Provide the user with information about the DMCA process

Timeline

  • Initial Response: Within 24 hours of receipt
  • Content Removal: Within 48 hours of receipt of valid notice
  • User Notification: Within 72 hours of content removal

4. Counter-Notification Process

If you believe that your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

  • Identification: A description of the material that was removed and its location before removal
  • Statement of Good Faith: A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed in error
  • Consent to Jurisdiction: Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
  • Contact Information: Your name, address, and telephone number
  • Signature: Your physical or electronic signature
Warning: Submitting a false counter-notification may result in legal consequences. Only submit a counter-notification if you have a good faith belief that the material was removed in error.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

SnapQuota maintains a strict policy against repeat copyright infringers:

  • First Offense: Warning and content removal
  • Second Offense: Temporary account suspension (7 days)
  • Third Offense: Extended account suspension (30 days)
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent account termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts immediately for severe or egregious copyright violations.

6. False Claims

Submitting a false DMCA notice or counter-notification may result in:

  • Legal liability for damages
  • Costs and attorney's fees
  • Potential criminal penalties for perjury

We take false claims seriously and may report them to appropriate authorities.

7. International Users

While this policy is based on U.S. copyright law (DMCA), we respect international copyright laws and will work with copyright holders worldwide to address infringement claims.
